Open Access
This journal published by Integra Academic Press

Computational Perspectives is committed to providing open access to all of its published research articles, ensuring that scholarly knowledge is freely available to the global academic community and the general public. We believe that open access facilitates the dissemination of high-quality research and encourages the widest possible use of the work to advance knowledge and education.

1. Open Access License

All articles published in the Computational Perspectives are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license allows users to:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium, mode, or format for any purpose, even commercially.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially, under the condition that they attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor.
  • Distribute: Redistribute the material under the same CC BY-SA license.

This means that authors retain copyright over their work while granting permission for others to use, share, and adapt it as long as they provide appropriate credit and license any derivative works under the same conditions.

2. No Subscription Fees

The Computational Perspectives does not charge readers or institutions any subscription fees. All articles are immediately available to the public and can be freely accessed and downloaded via the journal’s website.

3. Article Processing Charge (APC)

To support the journal's sustainability, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $250 USD applies to authors upon acceptance of their manuscript. This charge helps cover the costs of editorial management, peer review, production, hosting, and maintenance of the journal platform.

4. Content Archiving and Preservation

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. All content in the CLOCKSS Archive and the Global LOCKSS Network is preserved with explicit publisher permission, secured via written contract or through online permission statements. We work closely with LOCKSS network implementers to facilitate development of governance and legal terms that are appropriate to the implicated content, jurisdictions, rights, and access affordances.

The journal also partners with trusted preservation services to ensure that articles remain accessible for future generations of scholars.

5. Permitted Reuse

Under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license, authors grant readers the right to reuse and adapt published work under the following conditions:

  • Appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s).
  • Any modified versions of the work must be distributed under the same CC BY-SA license.
  • Any content that is reused or adapted from the journal must clearly acknowledge the original publication source.

6. Benefits of Open Access

The benefits of open access are far-reaching and align with the journal's mission to support global research and education. Some of the key benefits include:

  • Increased Visibility: Research articles published in an open access format reach a wider audience and are more likely to be cited by others.
  • Global Accessibility: Anyone with an internet connection, anywhere in the world, can access and benefit from the research without financial barriers.
  • Enhanced Collaboration: Open access research encourages collaboration among scholars from different disciplines and geographical regions.

7. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright over their work and are free to share, use, and adapt their publications as long as they comply with the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. The journal does not claim any ownership over the authors' work, and authors are encouraged to share their research as widely as possible in line with open access principles.

8. Revisions and Updates to the Open Access Policy

The Computational Perspectives reserves the right to revise or update this open access policy at any time. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to authors and the academic community via the journal's website.
